Bloody Fucking Hell!

Will people never learn? I've been getting quite some Sober-A aka Odin infected mails today and yesterday... most of them coming from an ADSL user on the Planet Internet network. All of them have been reported to the abuse/complaints departement of the ISP and I hope they either contact the user, or just cut his connection.

If you don't run (up-to-date) anti-virus software, a firewall and have at least basic understanding of e-mail usage and attachments

YOU DON'T FUCKING BELONG ON THE FUCKING INFORMATION HIGHWAY!

Get lost, go back and play with Fisher Price for all I care, but stay out of things you don't have a clue about. Yes, I'm pretty fed up with it... can you tell?

Don't you think that ISP's have a responcibility to protect the web from the clueless should help their paying users?

or (take your pick)

Don't you think that ISP's have a responcibility to protect their paying users from the big bad web and help the clueless?

No, and no.

Is the governement responsable for telling you that accepting that white powder from the shady person whom you've never met before might not be "wise"?

Come on... don't tell me there ain't enough information out there? Is the ISP responsable in a way? I don't think so, they just provide access (and a sometimes even information regarding security/virus problems) to their users.

Most users just don't want to know... they only care about looking at dirty pictures and downloading music - oh, and playing games.

I just looked at that link you provided for the Odin virus and apparently I've been getting it too. Fortunately it always ended up in the spam mail folder of yahoo and I just deleted them. Phew

Don't assume people understand the information they read/ignore. Some people really need the help offered by anyone that has more of a clue than they do.
No one is having a go at M$ for finally turning on the firewall by default in XP SP2 are they?

End users, joe round the corner and many parents and friends need help. It would be nice if ISP's offered it to those that could benifit from it as they are in a good position to help.

Dave : what do you think I've been doing for the past 6 years? I've been passing out information and educating end-users, family and friends...

Which gives me more as enough credit to be allowed to rant about it and call some people morons, doesn't it?

Rant away, and for the record I agree.

I'm just saying that others could do more to help the clueless.

SO I decide to do a search on my name on yahoo/google.. yahoo first.. and low and behold I find out that your site is back up....
